a look | "rose tinted glasses"

I'm really sorry for the kinda grainy photos and the fact that there are a few things on the floor whilst taking these pictures.

Beside the point, I'm going to be doing a makeup tutorial post on here which is very different. This look basically revolves around the pink and rosy tones on the eye followed by a subtle liquid lipstick which pairs nicely with the hues of the eyeshadow. Bold brows, long lashes and highlighted under eyes also play a part in this look and just help to finish off the light yet feminine tone/ what I'm trying to achieve through this.

First I start by filling in my eyebrows, so I use the powder on an angled brush and then use the tinted wax to set them. This gives me a darker and bolder brow which stays put for the whole day!

For the eyeshadow (which I'm absolutely shit at might I add) I start by priming my eyelids with the primer that comes with the palette. It has a really strange consistency, it's like a really oily balm/Vaseline type thing. After priming, I use "Cool Rose" in my crease to serve as a transition shade, I make sure I blend this as much as I can and if necessary, I'll deepen it using a separate taupe shade. I then use the shade 'Toasted Almond' which is a really pigmented, metallic pink tinged bronze shade all over the lid. I just pack this on. To add to the intensity of the lid shade, I use on of the metallic cream shadows which is is a bronzey toned neutral called "Bronzed Buff". Then to line my eyes, I use a deep metallic purple/red toned eyeshadow, "Baked Chestnut" and softly line my eyes and also under my eyes. To highlight my inner corner I use the Eye Eye crayon in Ice. For mascara, I use a few coats of the waterguard mascara which just helps to redefine my lashes and lengthen them. To highlight and conceal under my eyes I apply the Maybelline age rewind in an upside down triangle shape and blend away. For my highlight, I use the Seventeen skin wow highlight on my cheekbones, nose bridge, cupids bow and brow bone- this products is really pigmented thus very prominent so a little goes a long way! Lastly, for the lips I went for a warm toned pink by Rimmel in solstice.

Overall this is a really soft look, I love incorporating pinks and rosy tones in my makeup- it's something I've never really done before but I'm v happy I experimented.

Products used:
Seventeen easy on the eyes palette 'Birthday Suit'
Benefit brow zings
Natural Collection water guard mascara
Maybelline age rewind concealer
Rimmel apocalips 'solstice'

Would you try this look out? What are your thoughts on the palette?

GCSE results '16

Today* was results day and I didn't fail. Ayyyyy.

Jk, I wasn't expecting to fail.

Anyway, I was so so so scared to get my results mainly because all the pressure that has been put on me by my school to get A*s and As. I think I started crying when I was lining up to collect my results - what a mess. I got my results, looked at them and just saw As and A*s and I ended up wailing and full on sobbing in the middle of the hall and then Ambra started crying as well as my mum so that's fantastic. My school is probably just laughing at all the photos that were taken of me bawling my eyes out as well as the one where I was forced to fist pump with a few others kmt.

As you may know, I done my triple Chemistry and Physics GCSEs a year early so my grades were two Bs from last year which I've just learned to love and accept but my results this year are as follows:

English Literature A*
History A*
Spanish A*
English Language A (Cambridge IGCSE marked our whole year down by 5 marks due to 'suspicion')
Computing A
Biology A
Maths B
Chemistry + Physics from last year B

I was so shocked with my Computing grade, like everyone knew that Computing was going to be the death of me, my coursework's made me cry multiple times and I didn't know any of the theory so I just crammed the night before and hoped for the best. "I never experred it."

Maths I'm a bit pissed off about because although maths is not my strongest point I worked so hard to get an A and was finally achieving that grade in all my mocks. The head of maths checked my UMS score and I was 3 marks away from the A grade so I guess I'll have to get that remarked- even if it does go down then it'll still be a solid B.

I'm so pleased with the rest of my grades and I'm telling you hard work really does pay off (cringe) I low-key wish I hadn't done so badly last year with chemistry and physics but looking back, I didn't revise efficiently so that's that.

I kinda have a sixth form enrolment horror story which I'll briefly summarise because why not. After getting my results I went to enrol at my schools sixth form with the intentions of doing Biology, History, Spanish and Gov and Politics. I go there and I'm told that Biology and History are on the same blocks, they no longer offer Spanish and they've failed to introduce the Government and Politics course. So now I'm forced to pick new a-levels, they suggested I do History, English literature, Psychology and Sociology...I was like not today satan, not today. I went to Ambras house (she lives 3 minutes away from the school) and just emailed all my other choices and also went down to another school that I hadn't even applied for primarily and managed to get a place due to my exam results.

Next step is a-levels which I'm dreading, I hope to take: History, Biology, English Literature and Spanish.

obviously, thanks for reading and if you also got your results, I hope you're happy with them :)

* it was actually yesterday but let's pretend I wrote this on the day, ok?

yes, it is me. I know I haven't blogged in a long time. Sorry.

Anyway, on Thursday I attended my first blog event which I honestly didn't want to attend at first but then later though f*ck it, why not. So I actually got out of bed, got dressed and attempted to do my makeup which resulted in a rather drab winged liner, highlight and filled in brows. I tried okay? To be honest I don't think I was the best attendee mainly because I just isolated myself in the corner and didn't talk to anyone because I felt so awkward and out of place, kinda regret not starting conversations but you live and you learn. I attended all three talks, one with Katie Snooks (yep the blogger and youtuber although I'd never read/watched her content before :/), Rollo (an employee at Youtube) and lastly Vanessa Guallar, an MUA, who showed us how to recreate a look with highlighted and glowy skin. As I mentioned, I didn't really converse much which left me either walking around with no purpose or on my phone -gahh- BUT thankfully I managed to make small talk with one of the makeup artists, Cat, who was really lovely and also applied an amazing lip colour (Roses are red from the Mega-Matte lips range). I also got a manicure using a polish from their 8-day wear range, so now my nails look much more presentable because trust me they weren't in a good place beforehand. I'm not entirely sure what shade she used on me but I have a feeling it was 'Coffee Nude' Before I left I was able to pick out two sets to take home in a goody bag, the products are all new to me (the whole brand is actually) so I'm really looking forward to trying out them out, especially the 3-way highlighter, and reporting back on how they are. All in all I had an enjoyable day and I've definitely learned so much from each speaker and came home with fresh ideas for blog posts! I'd like to thank SEVENTEEN for inviting me to this event and I hope I can attend many more in the future.
